Simple. Supportive. Centered on You.

Every relationship begins with a conversation. This complimentary call is a chance for us to connect, get to know your hopes and concerns, and answer any questions you may have. We’ll walk you through how our services work and what you can expect, so you can decide if Wunderbirth feels like the right fit—no pressure, just presence.

Before care officially begins, I’ll provide a clear service agreement that outlines everything we’ve discussed—so you feel informed, protected, and ready to move forward with confidence.

Step One: Free Consult Call

Once you decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your first in-person visit. This is when we begin creating your individualized care plan. We’ll take time to learn your values, priorities, and any medical or emotional considerations. Whether it’s planning your ideal birth environment or discussing how you’d like to be supported postpartum, this is where your vision becomes our shared roadmap.

Step Two: Initial Visit

Throughout your pregnancy, you’ll receive attentive, holistic care designed to support your physical and emotional  well-being. Prenatal visits are intentionally unrushed, giving us time to check in on both your baby’s development and how you’re feeling. These visits include all necessary health assessments while also making space for conversation, education, and empowerment.

Step Three: Pregnancy Support

Starting at 36 weeks, Yvonne is officially on-call for your labor and birth. When the time comes, your midwife and birth team arrive ready to support you in the comfort of your chosen birth space. We honor your intuition and preferences. A second birth attendant is always present for added safety, and we stay with you in the immediate postpartum to ensure you and baby are thriving, connected, and well cared for.

Step Four: Birth Support

The journey doesn’t end at birth — in many ways, it’s just beginning. Your postpartum care includes six in-home visits tailored to your recovery, emotional wellness, and feeding journey. Yvonne will provide guidance on healing, newborn care, breastfeeding, and navigating life with a newborn.

Step Five: Postpartum Support

01. Do you accept insurance or offer payment plans?

As a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) in Hawai‘i, I don’t bill insurance directly, but many families are able to receive partial reimbursement through their private insurance or health-sharing plans. I provide a detailed superbill upon request to help with this process. Medicaid (Med-QUEST) and TRICARE currently do not cover CPM services. To make care more accessible, I also offer flexible payment plans—just let me know what works best for your family and we’ll find an option that fits.

02. What’s the difference between a midwife and an OB-GYN?

Midwives and OB-GYNs both care for people during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum—but their approaches differ. OB-GYNs are medical doctors trained to manage high-risk pregnancies, perform surgeries like cesareans, and use medical interventions when needed. Midwives specialize in supporting low-risk pregnancies with a more holistic, hands-on approach. They focus on informed choice, continuity of care, and honoring the natural process of birth—while still monitoring for safety every step of the way. Many families choose midwives for a more personalized and empowering experience.

03. Are you comfortable supporting women and birthing people from different background whose first language may not be English?

I was born and raised in Germany and while I learned English in school at a very young age I still remember how hard it was to express myself and my feelings when I first lived in the US. While I may not know your first language I will be very patient and make sure all your needs are addressed with express kindness.
